Playa de Poniente - A Scenic Beach in Benidorm

Poniente is Benidorm's longest beach.
Less crowded than Levante Beach, it's a fantastic place for beach life. And there also are some scenic cliffs in the distance...

Quieter than Levante, with less crowds, especially in the southern section, it's a scenic beach with plenty of space for land-based beach sports.

This beach is for those who'd like to escape from the dense crowds (such as the ones at Levante) and still enjoy the Sun, the same sea...

Poniente Beach has a length of around 3 km (1.86 mi) and it's also much wider than Levante.
More space for people, more privacy. But I'm not saying you won't find crowds. Especially the northern half of the beach tends to be full. Because it's closer to the centre, closer to Levante as well.

The crowds of good restaurants are a bit further away from here, though you will be able to find a few good places to eat if you keep searching.
This was one of the things I didn't like about Poniente Beach. Few good places to eat.

One of them was that Hungarian restaurant ("Pancho"), which I wrote about.

This part of Benidorm is less crowded overall, but there are some scenic cliffs and I like the panoramic views I saw from a nearby mountain top (southern Benidorm).
In fact, I like the skyline views from the south more than the ones from the north.
